The Korean Language & Culture Program (KLCP) is designed to improve international students’ comprehensive conversation skills in Korean that runs all the year round. KLCP provides intensive Korean language training to international students admitted to Korean universities and to others interested in engaging in work related to Korea or the Korean language.
The KLCP provides the regular program year round, with four sessions: spring, summer, fall and winter. Students may choose their desired quarter and begin their studies in Korean language. Students are divided from level 1 to 6 based on their command of Korean language. Those who have completed level 6 may study in the advanced academic class that is designed to cultivate students to acquire advanced Korean language skills in professional areas.

①Afternoon class runs identical programs to the morning class.
②Students in the afternoon class may apply for a visa as well.
③Students may enroll in the afternoon class at the tuition that is 10 % cheaper than the morning class.
④Students can freely choose either the morning or afternoon class. (Elective classes such as Pronunciation Clinic, TOPIK Preparation Class etc take place in the afternoon. If students want to take elective classes, please enroll in morning class. Elective classes may not open if there aren’t enough applicants.)
⑤Afternoon class runs from 1:30 PM to 5:20 PM.
– Students have various cultural opportunities as follows depending on their levels.
①The Tea ceremony demonstration and traditional folk songs
Students drink Korean traditional tea at “Dahyangmandang,” a traditional teahouse, and learn the tea ceremony and traditional folk songs.
②The Korean traditional percussion quartet (Samulnori)
Students visit the National Center for Korean Traditional Performing arts and learn the Korean traditional percussion quartet, a type of Korean traditional music.
③ Korean paper art
Korean paper art is a type of traditional art that artists dye mineral dyes on Korean paper to make patterns. Students learn Korean paper art at either Language Education Institute or the National Folk Museum of Korea.
④ Korean dishes
Students learn how to cook representative Korean dishes such as Bulgogi and Bibimbap.
⑤A field trip to the DMZ
Students experience the tragic division of the Korean peninsula and North-South relations. (it is subject to change.)

It should include the applicant’s academic background and other achievements in brief. Must be written in Korean, English, Chinese or Japanese, A4 size 1 page, free format.
4. 1) Scanned version of official certificate of graduation from the most recent school attended (in Korean, English, Chinese or Japanese. If the document is in another language, submit scanned version of notarized translation with scanned version of the original document)
2) Scanned version of official academic transcript from the most recent school attended (in Korean, English, Chinese or Japanese. If the document is in another language, submit scanned version of notarized translation with scanned version of the original document)
3) Apostille of certificate of graduation and official academic transcript. If the country is not an Apostille member, then the documents should be verified by a Korean Consulate.
5. A copy of current passport (information page with a photo)
6. Application fee: KRW 60,000 (non-refundable)
7. Bank Statement (omittable if the student do not need D-4 visa)
① In the student’s name. If the bank statement is under parents’ name, please submit a certificate of family relationship.
② Above 10,000 USD, issued within 30 days
③ In Korean, English, Chinese or Japanese. If the document is in another language, submit scanned version of notarized translation with scanned version of the original document.

(1) Academic Honor Scholarship
– Students in each level whose grades fall within the top 5% will receive a 200,000 KRW discount to use for their next term.
(2) Consecutive Registration Discount Scholarship (Consecutive registration applies from the 2018 fall session.)
– Students who register for 5 consecutive sessions will receive a 200,000 KRW discount to use for their next term. (Regardless of grades, attendance, pass/failure, etc, this applies to all students who register for 5 sessions consecutively.)
(3) Volunteer Scholarship
–200,000 KRW scholarships in cash are granted to students who complete 20 volunteering hours during a session. The center will select qualifying students to assist with center management and learning support using their native language skills.
